I was first baptized when I was about 8! It was a public declaration that my life belonged to Jesus. The problem is this: I didn’t realize the magnitude of what I was doing and what this new life meant for me as a Christian.

Fast forward about 12 years later. Since this time, I have been a slave to many things. I have been a slave to fear, comparison, body image, doubt, perfectionism, self-deprecation, and people pleasing. This bondage, this yoke of slavery, this is NOT the life of a follower of Christ. This is not what we are called to! For freedom, Christ has set us free, and who the Son sets free is free indeed.

I have finally begun to live in the freedom He offers. I am learning what it means to be His Daughter. I have experienced so much restoration in this past month, and I am learning to hear His voice so much more clearly.

This baptism is a public declaration that my life belongs to Jesus. It represents freedom from bondage. Maybe God will miraculously heal me of the things listed above, and I’d love for that to be the case. 🙂 Maybe it’ll be a day-by-day, moment-by-moment grind where i have to make conscious decisions to fight these things. whatever the case i have the Spirit of the LORD within me, and His power runs through my veins, not because of anything i can do or by any of my own strength, but because He never leaves us alone. thank You Jesus for new life!!! DEATH TO LIFE. WHERE THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS THERE IS FREEDOM!

The thief comes ONLY to steal, kill, and destroy. Christ came so we could have life, and life to the FULL. And that means life in Him.

Yay for running to the Father and falling into grace! This time, I was baptized in full surrender to the Lord and expectant that the best is yet to come because I know He holds my future in the palm of His hand.

I was baptized at the beach on the south side of Jacó, the place where I also learned to surf! I wish I knew how to upload photos onto my blog because the Lord painted the most beautiful sunset! 🙂

You. I know He has said “Well done faithful servant” many times. My prayers and love go with you.

  4. Mackenzie dear, love how open you are to God’s leading! Precious memories of my own baptism have been flooding in, praying you carry in your heart that fire of the Holy Spirit for the rest of your life!

  5. God Bless You! I did the same. I wasl baptized when I was 11 but did not understand the importance of it and was later baptized in my thirties. Best of luck to you and all that you do. I am so glad God took these fears from you. Living in fear makes for a miserable life.
Take care and be safe surfing! Your friend. Ms. Vicki
